Accounting Clerk
Legacy Tax + Trust Lawyers is seeking a full-time Accounting Clerk. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic multi-tasker who enjoys a fast paced work environment, challenging work and providing great client service to multiple clients. You will work with and support the Chief Operating Officer and Trust/AP Clerk with various accounting responsibilities.
Job Description and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include AP, A/R, payroll, billing, corporate accounting and other duties as needed:

- posting and follow up of BC Online, LTSA and Docusign disbursements
- processing expense reimbursements
- processing of cheque and credit card payments, including follow up with required supporting documentation and ensuring verification of payment details
- daily bank deposits and A/R write offs
- maintaining miscellaneous receivables
- processing payroll and posting related journal entries
- processing trust cheques, including collecting signatures
- prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- prepare monthly tax remittances
- distribution of monthly financial reports
- administration and monthly audit of safekeeping
- assist with preparation of audits or independent reviews
- maintain accurate and organized electronic accounting files and records
- provide overflow support to accounts payable, including scanning and saving of documents to the firm’s document management system
- other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Training and support on our systems and procedures will be provided. You will bring:

- completion of an accounting certificate or diploma is required
- experience in a related role for a minimum of two years
- advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- knowledge with accounting software
- excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- ability to multi-task well and thrive in a high paced environment and work well under pressure
- eager to learn and enjoy problem solving
- a high level of initiative and resourcefulness
- ability to work well independently as well as contribute as a team member
- ability to prioritize
- strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- always maintains a high level of professionalism
Qualifications
Our successful candidate will have at least two years of general accounting experience. You are a self-motivated individual with a positive and team-player attitude who seeks to exceed expectations. You must enjoy challenges and work well under pressure. Experience with a professional services firm is ideal, but not required.
Benefits and Compensation
The salary range for this position is $50,000 – $65,000. Placement in the hiring range will depend on several factors such as level of experience, relevant skills and qualifications and internal equity. Legacy Tax + Trust Lawyers also provides a comprehensive healthcare benefits package as well as paid sick/personal time.
